Don't miss
- Sagrada Familia: Book tickets weeks ahead. Morning light through the stained glass is unreal.
- Park Guell: Gaudi's mosaic wonderland. Book the monumental zone in advance.
- Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic): Medieval streets, hidden plazas, cathedral. Wander without a map.
- La Boqueria Market: Fresh fruit, jamón, seafood. Go early to avoid the crush.

- Pintxos in El Born: Bar-hop for Basque-style small plates. Bar del Pla, El Xampanyet.
- La Pepita: Creative tapas, great vibe, local favourite.
- Can Paixano (La Xampanyeria): Cheap cava and sandwiches. Standing room. Chaotic. Perfect.
Do this
- Sunset at Bunkers del Carmel: Best free viewpoint in the city. Bring wine and snacks.
- Barceloneta Beach at golden hour: Swim, then tapas. That's the Barcelona formula.
- A night in Gracia: Away from tourist bars. Local plazas with terraces, vermouth, calm energy.
Local tips
- Uber doesn't work in Barcelona: use Cabify or Free Now (mytaxi) if you need a car
- Lunch menu (menu del dia) is the hack: 3 courses + drink for €10-15 at most restaurants, weekday lunchtimes
- Book Sagrada Familia and Park Guell online weeks in advance or you won't get in
- Dinner doesn't start until 9pm. Restaurants are empty at 7pm.

Getting around
Metro is excellent and cheap. T-Casual card (10 trips). Walking is the best way to see the city. Avoid taxis from the airport — Aerobus is €7.

EUR. Cards accepted almost everywhere. Some small tapas bars cash-only.
Safety
Pickpockets are a real problem — La Rambla, metro, beaches. Use a front pocket or crossbody bag. Don't leave anything on the beach while swimming.
