## Where to stay

**Naoussa for the charm.** Once a quiet fishing village, Naoussa now hums with life. Its labyrinthine streets are peppered with chic boutiques and bustling tavernas, all set against a sparkling marina backdrop. Yet, it retains an authentic charm that escapes some of the busier Cycladic islands. Opt to stay near Piperi Beach where you can sip morning espresso with locals at Café Yemeni.

**Parikia for the connections.** Parikia is the island’s heartbeat and main port. It's ideal if you want the convenience of ferry connections and a variety of activities. The old town is a maze worth getting lost in, with the stunning Ekatontapiliani Church as a genuine highlight. If nightlife is on your agenda, stay near Livadia Beach but venture a street or two back for quieter nights.

**Lefkes for the peace.** Up in the hills, Lefkes offers a different Paros, one where time seems to stretch and slow. This former capital is all narrow lanes and whitewashed houses, with paths that lead you through olive groves. It’s the place for serene mornings and starry nights. Stay near the main square, and you’ll be waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread at Stratos Bakery.

**Skip Golden Beach if not surfing.** While Golden Beach is beautiful, unless you’re here for windsurfing, the area can feel a bit isolated and sparse. Instead, visit for a day and then retreat back to one of the more vibrant hubs.

## When to go

June and September are your sweet spots — warm enough to enjoy the beaches without the August crowds and inflated prices. July is buzzing but brace for packed streets and restaurants.
