Our 29 rooms sit around a pool in a shaded tropical garden in Khuekkhak, Khao Lak, about 2 km from Bang Niang Beach. In Thai, chong fa means an opening in the sky: the light that falls through the trees. Expect quiet nights, unhurried mornings and staff who learn your name. STAY — Choose a the garden for the calm stay, a Pool View room looking onto the pool, or one of nine Bungalows with extra space among the trees. Every room has air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi and blackout curtains. UNWIND — Swim, read in the garden, or book a gua sha treatment: slow, gentle scraping strokes that ease tired muscles after a day of diving or hiking. A small BBQ spot in the garden makes for easy evenings. EXPLORE — Khao Lak is the gateway to the Similan Islands, home to some of Thailand's best diving and snorkelling; the marine park is open from October to May. We arrange Similan, Surin and Phang Nga Bay day trips, airport transfers, a private driver and motorbike rental. Bang Niang Market and the Tsunami Memorial Museum are both under 2 km away, and Phuket Airport is about 75 minutes by car.
